Anish was born on the 27th day of the fifth month of the year 2005. There is a big story behind it. Swati took her maternity leave from 23rd May 2005 onwards. On 26th May, I was in office as usual. She told me to take someone with me for my birthday shopping. So I asked Prachi, my friend at the office (then I was working with Tally Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore). She said fine. After office hours, just as we were ready to leave, I got this phone call from Swati.
She was generally cleaning the house (which she normally does when she is free) and was washing my shirts. She almost finished washing the collars and cuffs. Then she tried to lift the bucket along with the clothes and water in it to put them into the washing machine. Normally, lifting something is not at all allowed during this stage, that too when she is running her 36th week. Her water broke. As she told me this on the phone and asked what would have happened, I already started my course of action. The first thing I did was, tell Prachi about this as her cousin is a doctor. She told us to admit her ASAP to the maternity ward as this could be fatal to the mother and baby if we don't do that.
That's all, the running race began. I immediately dropped the plans of shopping and rushed home. It was horrible to see the scene at home. Even if she was trying to walk a little bit, the water was coming out. I sensed something and called my dad. He told me to go to the doctor as he could not assess the condition from afar.
We called our regular gynecologist (Dr. Prabha Nambiar at Chinmaya Mission Hospital). She was not sure and said this should not happen now as there are almost 3 more weeks to go. But, she said, come directly to the labor ward, as she was there at that time. It was slightly raining outside. I packed the bag with essentials like towels, toothbrush and paste, soap, and some dresses for Swati. We left the house at 7PM and went in the rain to the hospital. Still, we did not know what is going to happen that night and were joking during the 6 km ride. I was telling Swati, look, in the 36th week of pregnancy we are riding the bike, that too in the rain. As we entered the hospital's labor ward, they directly placed her on a bed and connected the baby monitoring system. The doctor wanted to check whether any water was left inside her womb as there was continuous leaking. They quickly monitored the status of the baby and called Dr. Umesh. He came at around 10 PM and immediately scanned Swati. He told me there is adequate liquid left in the womb and there is a chance for inducing pains. Swati was back in the ward and they threw me out of it. I was waiting outside. At 11:30 PM, Dr. Prabha called me to explain the situation. I was tensed a bit. But she told me to be cool and gave me some forms to fill out and submit at the counter. Meanwhile, I informed Krishna and Sushila about this. By this time, it was raining heavily outside. Poor people, both came in that rain to the hospital to be with me. Without them, I would have been a deadman. Even though they did not do anything, it was a great relief to see them at that hour. Sushila went inside the ward and met Swati. Meanwhile, I booked a room in the hospital and made arrangements.
At 12:30, Dr. Prabha allowed me to meet Swati for some time. I went and comforted her. We both were not agreeing to a cesarian. Doc said she is trying her level best not to go for a cut. But all the trials went in vain as there were absolutely no pains to Swati.

While driving on the roads, I have observed these funny oneliners. I think these oneliners reflect the imagination of those who created them. It is really good to come up with such creations.
Enjoy....
Nazar Hatti toh Durghatna Ghati
Haste makes waste
Safety First Speed Next
Better be safe than sorry
Drive don't fly
Control your speed
Alert avoid accidents
Always expect the unexpected
Drive like Hell and you will be there
If you sleep your family will weep
After whisky, driving risky
First deserve then desire
Hurry makes worry
This is a highway, not the runway
Faster will see a disaster
On the bend go slow friend
Eager to last, why drive fast
It's your life, be safe
Better be late than sorry
Be Mr. Late than Late Mr
Don't gossip let him drive
Go easy on my curves
Be soft on my curves
Be gentle on my curves
Don't hurry on my curves
Somebody is waiting for you, drive slow
Life is short, don't make it shorter
If married, divorce speed
Speed thrills, but kills
Be slow unless you have an appointment with God
Better be 15 minutes late in this world than 15 years early in the next world
I will add some more whenever I come across new ones.
Enjoy....

We had been to the market in the morning at 8. It was drizzling. Anish is very
happy today because the moment he woke up, he was out in the car. We finished getting
vegetables and came home at 9:20. Then the breakfast session started. We quickly
finished our breakfast.
Swati started feeding the boy. The boy finally finished by 10:30. His meals normally last for at least one and a half hours. Today he was a bit fast. Probably, he was a bit hungry (no wonder, he did not have anything last night).
This cold whether here is taking its toll on his nose. On top of that today I gave him a bath. I kept the hot water ready for him in the bathroom and came out to get his towel. It was hardly some 20 seconds. By that time he is totally wet with at least 3 mugs of water on his head. I quickly gave him a bath and sent him out to Swati. Swati made him warm with the clothes. But, these 3 mugs are enough to bring back the just concluded cold that he suffered the whole of last week.
As usual, he refused to eat his lunch and was feeling very sleepy. Eventually, he slept at 1 and by the time we finished our lunch, it was 2. Then I went and slept next to him. At 4:30 we woke up and got ready for the Auto Expo.
Meanwhile, one of our neighbors (One Gujarati lady) called all the children in our street
to her home at 5. Swati and Anish went and he got a nice wall clock as a gift. The lady's son's office celebrated the children's day and he brought all those gifts home and distributed them to the kiddos.
We headed to Vaahan Yatra with lots of expectations. It was not as exciting as last year's. But, the ultimate fellow enjoyed it thoroughly. Shouting constantly ca ca ca ca (car car...). In the bike stall, there was this POCKET BIKE from YAMAHA. Even big big fellows were sitting on it and taking photographs. I thought of taking some snaps of Anish. But this fellow as usual looked at the wheel and started paying with it. The first photo shows this.
Swati put him on the bike and then I clicked.
We finished and came out for some snacks there in one of the food stalls. We saw the Mirchi bajji stall and immediately attacked them. Lovely whether to have hot hot bajjis. But the little fellow refused to eat food and slept on the way. We reached home at 9. The moment the car stopped, this fellow woke up and started his usual stunts. Then we gave him his dinner. What a dinner, it was a thickly made dosa. That is what he is eating. He lost interest in food these days due to cold. Finally, he slept at 10:30.
Today's vaahan yatra visit was over in 1 hour. It is pretty fast. Last year, it took almost 2 and a half hours to completely see all the stalls. And we went without the little fellow that time. There is some coincidence. It was raining last year also when we went to vaahan yatra. I hit another car in that heavy rain, and then we missed the way and went somewhere else. Swati was shouting at me. It is already more than 3 hours, my baby is at home, I don't know whether the babysitting lady is taking care of him or not, etc. This year it was very pleasant, the little fellow cooperated well when I was checking those cars and all.
